HOUSTON, May 16 /PRNewswire/ -- PCMS(TM) and Track(TM), two widely
recognized cost control software packages, used in Refining, Chemical and
Petrochemical industries worldwide, have joined forces. Management Controls,
Inc., the owner of Track, has acquired PCMS (Project Control Management
System). Users will soon benefit from contractor administration & cost
control provided by Track along with the activity-based cost tracking &
forecasting that PCMS provides; all in one software package. PCMS will become
Track's Project Cost Forecasting (PCF) module and will be released in the
third quarter of 2008.
The Turnaround Management Company (TTMC) is recognized for its expertise
in Project Control Support for Turnarounds and Capital Projects Management.
TTMC's CEO, Michael D. Jeansonne, said, "We developed PCMS in response to
client demands and to provide our turnaround consultants a cost
tracking/forecasting tool. But we are not a software developer per se; that's
not our core business. Track is in the software business and will continue to
develop PCF to its fullest potential."
"We think the Track/PCMS combination has nearly limitless capabilities,"
said Bob Harrell, President and CEO of Management Controls, Inc., the company
that invented Track. He continued, "We plan to expand markets served from
refineries and chemical plants to pulp & paper, pharmaceuticals, utilities and
more. The software can be a huge money-saving and cost prediction tool for
government as well."
"We're excited about the cost control and predictability we can bring to
large projects," Harrell continued. "We already have had a great deal of
interest in the new PCF software product. Industry has needed a single
software program like this for decades. By giving users the ability to perform
paperless contractor administration and total cost functions and to allow them
to track project costs as they occur and forecast costs at completion -- well,
that's going to create new efficiencies and save many a project from
disaster."
Track will develop, market, and support PCF and TTMC will support Track
with PCF training, implementation and subject-matter expertise in use of the
product.
