PConRails LLC, founded in 2006 and based in Palo Alto, California, develops affordable, zero-emission personal computers. The firm is known for its Zonbu (TM) system, which provides users with all standard computing features. The product allows subscribers to access the Internet, employ a variety of applications, and connect peripheral devices. Zonbu is built on open source technologies. The device does not include hard drives or fans, reducing energy consumption and allowing the device to run silently. Files are stored to a 4GB compact flash memory module. The systems also automatically backup data to PConRails servers. All files are encrypted, preventing unauthorized users from accessing information. Software upgrades are pushed automatically to subscribers' computers. Zonbu is bundled with office, photograph management, Internet, game, multimedia, and other applications. The computer includes six USB ports. The system can be incorporated into home networks. A straightforward desktop interface simplifies navigation processes. PConRails was founded by Alain Rossmann and Gregoire Gentil. The company has won recognition from the 'Wall Street Journal.'
