Teradici Corporation, founded in 2004 and based in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada, is a fabless semiconductor company that is known for its PC-over-IP (TM) enterprise network technology. PC-over-IP includes the TERA Portal Processor and TERA Host and Portal Chipset components. The thin client platform supports processing at data centers that are as far as 2,500 miles from workstations. The system allows users employ only displays, keyboards, and mice. PC-over-IP processors are installed on host workstation, rack-mounted server, or blade server motherboards. A second chip is installed in the desktop mouse. The patented Tera Image Engine handles IP conversion, compression, and decompression processing. Teradici's platform allows workstations to support a large number of USB peripherals. The system reduces energy consumption. It also simplifies network security management processes. Teradici markets its technology to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The company has formed a partnership with IBM (R). It also works with ClearCube. Systems with Teradici technology will be marketed to organizations across the financial services, health care, media, and government sectors. The company has received $34 million in funding from Alloy Ventures and Skypoint Capital.
