Labcyte (TM) Incorporated, based in Sunnyvale, California, was established with the 2003 merger of Labcyte LLC and Picoliter Incorporated. The company provides life sciences laboratories with Acoustic Droplet Ejection (ADE), liquid handling instrumentation, and other technologies. The firm's ADE liquid transfer technology delivers ultrasonic acoustic energy to fluid samples. ADE supports the ejection of small droplets from open wells. It can be used to transfer proteins, high molecular weight DNA, and live cells. ADE technology is employed in the Labcyte Echo (TM) 550 Liquid handler, Echo 555 Liquid Handler, and Portrait (TM) 630 Reagent Multi-Spotter.
