Naughty Dog (R) Incorporated, founded as JAM Software in 1986, develops video games for the Sony PlayStation platform. The firm is known for its 'Crash Bandicoot' series, introduced in 1996. The company has sold over 22 million copies of the game worldwide. 'Crash Bandicoot' runs on PSone systems. The firm's Jak & Daxter series for PlayStation2 systems was introduced in 2001. While operating under the JAM Software name, the firm also developed 'Ski Crazed', which ran on the Apple II, and 'Dream Zone.' Sales increased when the company signed a publishing deal with Electronic Arts (EA). 'Keef the Thief' was the firm's first release with EA. JAM Software was renamed Naughty Dog in 1989. In 1992, the company introduced the 'Rings of Power' game. Two years later, Universal Interactive Studios (UIS) published the firm's 'Way of the Warrior' game. Naughty Dog was founded by programmers Andy Gavin and Jason Rubin. The company was acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2001.
