Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE) Incorporated is the largest residential and business communication services firm in Canada, serving 28 million customers. The firm offers subscribers local and long distance telephone, wireless, voice over IP (VoIP), high-speed Internet, digital television, and other services. The company's networks support voice, text, and video communications. Since 2004, under its Project Galileo initiative, the firm has focused on discontinuing its legacy data services, deploying new IP-based services, redesigning its Web site, simplifying bills, and promoting Web-based self-service interfaces. Achieving Project Galileo goals will allow the company to reduce annual operating costs by approximately $500 million. BCE also is expanding its fibre network in Canada, which will allow the company to deliver IP television programming to 4 million households. The firm is listed under the BCE symbol on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the New York Stock Exchange, and Europe's SWX exchange.
