Finmatica SpA, founded in 1989 by Piero Luigi Crudele, develops supply chain management (SCM), finance, document management, transportation management, and data and Internet security systems. The firm serves 1,500 customers across banking, transportation, insurance, and other industries. It acquired Record Center SpA in 1998 and Internet security company Intesis in 2000. Also in 2000, it purchased German security services firm R2R AG and French WAP security company MSI. In 2001, Finmatica acquired Answer Axis Group. In the same year, it developed an e-business platform for Spanish shipbuilding firm Izar. Finmatica's 2002 purchase of SCM implementation firm Ortems and supply chain planning developer Mercia Software has allowed the company to provide customers with integrated SCM and e-procurement products. Finmatica also offers products for document management, transportation management, finance, and security applications. The company maintains research and support facilities in Milan, Salerno, Brescia, Rome, Crema, Turin, Vicenza, and Bari. It also maintains offices in the U.S., France, Germany, Spain, the U.K., Belgium, the Czech Republic, Brazil, and Australia. Finmatica employs 1,000 people.
