Family Law Software, based in Newton Centre, Massachusetts, develops divorce financial planning tools. The firm, formerly Split-Up Software, is known for its Split-Up Software product line, which was introduced in 2000. The applications allow attorneys, accountants, mediators, and general users to analyze legal, financial, and tax issues associated with divorce proceedings. The company's Web site also provides customers with divorce law information. Family Law Software was founded by Daniel Caine and Wendell Smith, who previously were known for their Kiplinger's TaxCut program. That application, introduced in 1988, was sold to H&R Block in 1993.
