Bacon's Information Incorporated, founded in 1932 and headquartered in Chicago, provides public relations professionals with a wide range of media information. Originally, the firm operated as a trade press clipping bureau. It introduced its first media directory in 1952. The company expanded the directory with a newspaper volume in 1976. Bacon's Information introduced its first CD-ROM directory in 1994. Throughout the 1990's, it developed new specialized and regional directories. In 2000, Bacon's Information launched its online MediaSource research and contact management service. It also provided users with an online editorial calendar program. The company offers fax, e-mail, and direct mail press distribution services, as well as customized media list development services. Bacon's Information maintains offices in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Rockford, Illinois. Parent company Observer AB, based in Stockholm, provides media monitoring and analysis services to public relations professionals in the U.S. and Europe. Bacon's Information publishes 12 print directories, which contain information on over 80,000 international media outlets. Joe Bernardo serves as the company's president and COO.
