U.S Genomics Incorporated, founded in 1997 and based in Woburn, Massachusetts, is a privately held company that develops single molecule DNA, RNA, and protein analysis technologies. The firm's proprietary sample preparation technology supports the extraction of DNA, RNA, and protein molecules from complex samples. The company's platform employs universal reagent sets. It can identify multiple threats within a single reagent set. Target amplification is not required. U.S Genomics platform also includes tagging and microfluidics and genomic mapping features. The technology supports biodefense, human disease diagnostics, food and drug contaminant monitoring, and other operations. U.S Genomics holds multiple patents on its technologies. The company has raised $61 million in funding from HealthCare Ventures, StillRiver Fund, CB Health Ventures, Fidelity Biosciences Group, and Zero Stage Capital. The firm also has been awarded contracts by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA). U.S Genomics has formed an alliance with Northrop Grumman Corporation.
