Level 3 Business Markets offers regional businesses, local service providers, and regional carriers a variety of network access and voice and data communications services. Level 3 European Markets offers global telecommunications and content providers transatlantic connectivity and bandwidth optimization services. Level 3 Communications acquired Genuity in 2003; WilTel in 2005; and Progress Telecom, ICG, TelCove, Looking Glass Networks, and Broadwing in 2006. Level 3 Communications was founded as the Kiewit Diversified Group Incorporated (KDG) subsidiary of Peter Kiewit Sons Incorporated (PKS). The company acquired its current name in 1998. It went public in the same year and is listed on NASDAQ under the LVLT symbol.
