WebFeat (R) Incorporated, founded in 1998, provides over 5,000 libraries with federated database search tools. The firm introduced its first systems in 1999, marketing them to Fortune 500 companies. In 2000, WebFeat introduced its first academic and public library federated search products. The WebFeat Usage Tracker (WUT), also was introduced in 2000. The product allowed libraries to track licensed database access. The company's WebFeat platform, available in the Custom, Enterprise, and Express editions, includes search, notification, thesaurus, OpenURL support, ProCite (R) and EndNote (R) export, query results sorting and presentation, and other features. It handles concurrent searches across dozens of databases. WebFeat Express (TM), introduced in 2006, is marketed to small libraries. SMART (TM) is a database usage tracking and reporting system. WebFeat's products support seven languages. The company has formed partnerships with Follett Software Company, Dynix, Nelinet, Palinet, New York Metro, Infotrieve, EBSCO, and Thomson Scientific/ISI. WebFeat was founded by Todd Miller. The company and its technology have won recognition from 'Library Journal.'
