Magneti Marelli Holding SpA, founded in 1919 by Fiat and the Ercole Marelli company, provides dozens of automotive manufacturers worldwide with lighting, powertrain, electronic, exhaust, suspension, racing, and other supplies. The company supplies customers in Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It is known for its Multijet engine, Flecs suspension system, Dualogic and Selespeed (R) gearboxes, and SFS twin-fuel engine control system. It also designs climate control, roof, body, door, and other modules. Since 1990, the firm has developed telematic and navigation systems. The products include voice-based control features. Magneti Marelli's electronic control units are installed on championship Formula 1 Ferraris. The firm's Cofap Automotive Suspension unit sells shock absorbers and other products worldwide. Magneti Marelli also operates a retail services business. Magneti Marelli acquired Automotive Lighting in 2001. Fiat Group acquired full ownership of Magneti Marelli in 1967.
