DataDirect (TM) Networks, founded in 1988 and based in Chatsworth, California, develops networked storage and cluster systems that operate in high-performance computing environments. The products support the processing of rich media. DataDirect Networks is known for its S2A storage network controllers. The products, based on the Silicon Storage Appliance technology, support the creation of storage area networks (SANs) and supercomputing clusters. The S2A series consists of the DataDirect S2A8500 high-bandwidth SAN, DataDirect S2A8000 enterprise, and DataDirect S2A3000 workgroup controllers. DataDirect Networks customers include Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, British Broadcasting Company, NASA, Sandia, NCSA, Sony, Time Warner Cable, and Pinnacle.
