The product that became CADVANCE was first introduced in 1982 by P-CAD. It was subsequently purchased by CalComp and enhanced into a superior CAD system. CalComp sold its holdings off in 1987, and Isicad purchased CADVANCE and developed it into the very first successful Windows-based CAD application. In 1995, FIT Incorporated purchased CADVANCE and began to distribute it worldwide. Founded in June 1995, Furukawa Information Technology (FIT) designs, develops, and distributes CAD software systems worldwide under the CADVANCE brand name. The company's flagship offering has become a leading brand in the architectural engineering and facilities management (AE/FM) markets. The essence of FIT's attitude towards its business is expressed in its statement that the 'Customer is King.' Human relationships are the overriding consideration at FIT. Lines of communication with distributors, dealers, and customers are diligently maintained. FIT maintains comprehensive development and product improvement programs. The company sees an increasing demand for applications in vertical markets that require an integration of graphics design, database information, and report writing.
