Lantronix's Device Server products support Industrial EtherNet Association, Fieldbus Foundation, and other open standards. The company acquired embedded application developer United States Software in 2000. The following year, the firm invested in Premise Systems Incorporated, integrating Premise's home and building automation technology into the Device Server platform. Lantronix also acquired Lightwave Communications and Synergetic Micro Systems in 2001. Lantronix serves the industrial automation, health care, retail, building automation, and telecommunications markets.
