TecTrends: Bang & Olufsen a/s

Bang & Olufsen a/s, founded in 1925 and based in Struer, Denmark, develops audio, video, medical, and multimedia equipment. The firm, working with 1,400 retailers across 60 countries, provides consumers with televisions, music systems, loudspeakers, telephones, and other products. Half of the company's retail network is composed of B1 shops, which sell only Bang & Olufsen products. The firm is known for its BeoLab loudspeaker, BeoSound music and digital media, Serene cordless and mobile telephone, BeoLiving home entertainment, BeoLink home network, and Beo4 remote control hardware. The BeoLab loudspeakers employ the patented ICEpower amplifier units. Flat-screen televisions employ the VisionClear signal processing and picture optimization technology. Bang & Olufsen has formed partnerships with businesses across the automotive, hospitality, architecture, and yacht sectors. The company maintains additional manufacturing facilities in the Czech Republic. The firm also encompasses the Bang & Olufsen Medicom and Bang & Olufsen ICEpower businesses. The Medicom unit designs patient drug treatment compliance systems. It is known for the E3000 Electronic Stethoscope, developed with 3M Littmann, and the Helping Hand pill dispenser products. The ICEpower unit develops audio power supply, amplifier, and transducer products built on the ICEpower technology platform.

The TecTrends live search works as you type shows results in a drop-down box below the search box. The result list includes the name of the company, TecTerm or product along with some information about it and its popularity. Clicking on a record you are interested will display it (if it is a TecTerm it will display records with that TecTerm).

The live search will display the most relevant records and will limit the results by type if any of the Companies, TecTerms, or Products checkboxes are checked. In order to perform a full search based on what you have typed into the search box you may hit the 'Go' button.

Helpful information on the status of your search is displayed on the line above the search box so you can tell when a search is in progress or if no matches were found. You can also use the Options menu to change the result type filters (checkboxes), browse all records alphabetically using the directory, and search for articles.

To close and open the live search result list click on the down arrow at the right of the search box.

To increase or decrease the size of the live search result list you can click on the [+] or [-] button at the bottom of the live search results.
By default the results are sorted by popularity. To sort by record name click on the 'Name' column header and to sort by popularity click on the 'weight' column header.
