Carnation Software was founded in 1989 and incorporated in 1993. President Richard Love's career has included positions as senior programmer, technical writer, and electronics engineer for prestigious companies such as Stanford Research Institute, CX Corporation, Microdata, and McDonnell Douglas Corporation. The company's Vice President, Karen Love, became a full-time partner of Carnation Software in 1992, after many years in the world of high tech. She has managed sales, marketing, and operations for companies such as NeXT, Mac's Place (now Rocky Mountain Computer Outfitters), and Renaissance GRX (now Apian Software). Carnation Software specializes in Macintosh communications software. Carnation's product line includes the award-winning MacToPic, MacToPic Plus, and SBMac. Some of Carnation's prominent customers are Boeing, Apple Computer, Avis Rent-A-Car, Blue Cross & Blue Shield, 'Scientific American,' Rockwell International, and The San Francisco SPCA.
