Since its establishment in 1898, the unique contributions of the H. W. Wilson Company to librarianship in general, and biblographical publishing in particular, have been enormous. In addition to publishing a wide variety of reference works, collection development tools, and indexes in fields as diverse as art, applied science, technology, biology, general science, agriculture, the humanities, the social sciences, and general literature, the company has created one of the most extensive electronic information retrieval systems available, the Wilson Information System. Wilson is also active in the areas of original video production and microform publication. The company is now headquartered in four building in the Bronx, with additional offices in Dublin, Ireland. Its publications/brands include 'Current Biography Illustrated,' Wilson OmniFile, Humanities Full Text, and 'Art Index Retrospective.'
