Salesforce for Google Apps allows users to access Googles applications for e-mail, instant messaging, documents, and spreadsheets within the Salesforce application environment. The second product from the collaboration the two companies announced in June 2007, Salesforce for Google Apps may raise interest in Googles tools, which up to now have not seen widespread enterprise adoption. Most of the revenue from Google Apps comes from per-user annual license fees. Optional support from Salesforce will cost a small amount per month; Salesforce for Google Apps is available to subscribers at no additional charge. Doug Menefee, CIO of the physician management company Schumacher Group, said his company is considering the new offering for support staff, but will not consider it for its physicians until Google becomes fully HIPAA-compliant. Up to 200 large enterprises are currently testing Google Apps, but Capgemini has signed up just one customer for implementation services since establishing its partnership with Google in September 2007. Another customer win for Capgemini is said to be in the works, which the company predicts will be a tipping point in the industry for Google Apps. Google is also partnering with BI software vendor Panorama Software to add data warehouse and information analysis functionality to its spreadsheet application. New Google partner Bluewolf also announced that it will offer certified Google Apps training for users and administrators.
