Mobile phone trends have evolved over time and today the following characteristics are growing in popularity: an increased screen size; easy-to-use touchscreens; a preserved battery life, potentially made possible through new technologies; and tiny projectors used to improve and facilitate shared viewing. The Apple iPhone looks to offer some of the newest abilities and capabilities surrounding the concept of graphic user interface. The iPhone features a virtual touch keypad and zoom-in mapping features that offer aerial maps, a large 3.5 inch screen and clear and colorful icons. Several iPhone upgrades are already available, increasing what the phone can offer users. Some inclusions of the upgrades are Microsoft's ActiveSync technology, which is designed to speed the delivery of electronic mail being delivered and sent from users of Microsoft's Exchange corporate services. The iPhone is being marketed exclusively through AT&T, so in order to get this phone, users must sign up for AT&T services. It is suspected that this marketing approach may delay the widespread adoption of the phone and its services. 'TouchFLO' allows users a comfortable and unique way to 'paint' across the touch screen in order to access and use applications. Some of the battery-saving technologies adopted include integrating a touch unit within the LCD glass of the phone, which reduces the demand for power that is placed on the phone's battery.
