It has been awhile since the business world has seen a big rumble over LAN switches and it looks like Juniper Networks is set to face-off against rival Cisco in a battle over the enterprise network market. Now, Juniper has their line of LAN switches to sell, which is an improved upon plan from when the company previously attempted to market its new EX Series switches, which ate up a lot of the company's time. The EX Series was created from scratch and this is why the company did not have the appropriate amount of time and resources for its product marketing and sale. The big question now is whether or not Juniper has learned their lesson well enough to warrant success with their new LAN switches. Despite the fact that Juniper seems much more assertive and aggressive when it comes to their newest venture, and the fact that they have not made their own switches this time, analysts and competitors are not entirely sure about what success Juniper will have. Cisco is hoping to strictly limit the success that Juniper may have; speed seems to be the biggest benefit to a dynamic business model. Hopefully for Juniper, this time around they will be able to afford more time to their sales and marketing. In addition, Juniper can also rely on the fact that Cisco has been losing popularity when it comes to ports shipped, specifically to Hewlett-Packard. This may limit Cisco Systems' ability to focus primarily on Juniper in their marketing and sales battle.
