Microsoft has been promoting its new ideas and concepts for awhile now and while Windows 7 is far from becoming an accessible reality, Windows 7 fever seems to have swept almost all personal computer users by storm. Revisions of Windows have always been something for computer users to look forward to. In many instances, when Microsoft releases a version of Windows, there are certain bugs and annoyances that can be hard to solve. Therefore, when the next version comes out, it is hoped by almost all users that some of the issues and problems will be ironed out. However, Windows 7 is not an update or service pack which can be applied to Windows versions Vista and XP. Rather, Windows 7 will be a whole new technology unto itself. Many people are surprised by the announcement that Windows 7 will be released, since it was widely believed that Microsoft Vista would be Redmond's last release. Vista, however, turned out to be more of a stumble than a success and it is understandable that most people and companies would not want their last piece of a legacy to be represented by such a dud. It is anticipated that Windows 7 will be based partially on the business needs of Microsoft. They are also trying to pull ahead in the virtualization war that many technology companies have become embroiled in recently.
