As the b-to-b publishing arena is going through a transition, many people wonder if the seasoned, old-school salespeople will be able to keep up with the changes in order to continue being successful salespeople in the future. In order to help individuals in their attempts to become successful salespeople when it comes to the b-to-be market, it is important to first detail what companies are looking for in order to help define the ideal candidate for such a position. Many people believe this includes an individual with a few years experience when it comes to selling b-to-b or other online media, a person who is successful and courteous when it comes to dealing with customers and other customer service related activities, possibly someone with a background in print, and individuals who are ready and eager to maneuver outside of their comfort zone. This is particular important since the world of b-to-b sales is constantly changing and redefining itself. As a result, individuals with real drive and ambition are ideal. These candidates need to prove to prospective employers that not only are they driven and successful, but they are also willing and able to focus on the client. Individuals out of college as well as seasoned salespersons have the potential to succeed, but only if they are willing to act appropriately within a constantly changing and expanding environment.
