Salesforce.com and Google are allying to offer Salesforce Group Edition Featuring Google AdWords, a new product that will allow companies to easily purchase Google ads using software that allows customers to manage their sales operations over the Internet. Both companies are into heavy competition with Microsoft in several areas, and they are changing the way software is delivered on the Internet. Salesforce.com offers software that runs as a service on the Internet, and it has similarities to offerings from Google and other Internet companies. Salesforce.com says it uses the same type of hosted system, in which many people can use the software at the same time. Salesforce.com announced that it will integrate Google's AdWords into its offerings, and companies will be able to generate sales leads through Google ads and track the leads in the Salesforce.com application. Michael Dortch of the Robert Francis Group consultancy notes that Google usage is just about universal, but Google does not show on any list of enterprise decisions. However, the Salesforce.com-Google partnership means that enterprise solutions will soon emerge. Dortch said, This is one of those rare announcements where you cant overstate the potential value of it. Recently, Google demonstrated Google's Gears, which will allow online Google applications like those of Microsoft Office to work offline and to compete with Office.
