Biacore's Biacore T100 and Biacore A100 are systems that demonstrate the validity of study into earlier efforts to study interactions. Fifteen years ago, Biacore introduced technology for label-free measurement of molecular interactions. Biacore systems are based on the principle of SPR, and they used gold-plated chips coated with various matrices to which proteins or other interaction partners were attached or other interaction partners were attached. Over the years, Biacore systems have become easier to use and have better performance. Dr. Gary Franklin, PhD, says Biacore T100 and Biacore A100 provide the highest levels ever of performance and productivity. He also reveals that customers have cited ease of use and user-friendly performance. Beyond SPR as a novel technology to develop a portfolio of systems for a range of important applications, the Biacore scientists have provided a list of high-quality, label-free interaction analysis systems for the life sciences, pharma/biotechnology, environmental sciences, and food analysis sectors. A100 is flexible and adaptable for detailed characterization studies that allow integration into multiple phases of project pipelines. Among topics covered are biolayer interferometry, cantilever detection systems, label-free intrinsic imaging, and acoustic-detection systems.
