A diverse multicore processor is the solution to maintain stability between parallel control and DSP processing. This would also ensure that the software will be flexible to different conditions of resource consumption brought about by data-dependent algorithms and data availability caused by asynchronous inputs. Such solution emerges in response to the growing demand by modern video-processing systems for greater horsepower in digital signal processing. Vendors have been confronted with the issue of how to improve DSP chip performance since video-processing systems operate several applications, including content analysis, image processing and compression. The demand for greater DSP chip performance is not easy to resolve considering the system integration provides challenges that system software engineers and application programmers must overcome given the chip-level software tools they have. To obtain the required parallel speedup, smart tools are needed. But using multiple, independent single-instruction, multiple data or SIMD DSPs can balance asynchronous and synchronous data tasks in multichannel functionalities. For instance, multiple, independent asynchronous control tasks are present in every application in a multichannel video encoder security system. To achieve simplified control code and minimized overhead from synchronized operating system task swapping, developers allocate various parallel low-cost RISC processors, with each adopting a distinct control functionality.
