An online advertising management service has been made available as an addition to the hosted customer relationship management (CRM) system offered by Salesforce.com Inc. The new service is designed to help customers manage their marketing campaigns on the search engine of Google Inc. The new Salesforce for Google AdWords CRM service integrates the processes associated with the creation, management, and benchmarking of marketing campaigns on Google's search engine. All the processes can be handled via the Salesforce.com interface, which is linked to the website of Google. The service also allows customers to buy keywords and create advertising text through the Salesforce.com interface. NetSuite Inc., a provider of hosted CRM and ERP systems, also announced a new offering that will allow for the management of advertising campaigns on both Google and Yahoo!. According to Zach Nelson, chief executive officer of NetSuite, the service is available to the CRM and ERP systems hosted by the company. The NetSuite Keyword Marketing Module is offered for free as an add-on to those existing systems. Industry analysts believe that offerings like these from Salesforce.com and NetSuite will boost Google advertisers, who have had little data to prove that their investments are cost-effective. The new systems will provide the statistics companies need to show whether or not those investments are worthwhile.
