Several laptops are now available with Intel's Core Duo dual-core processors. The Dell Latitude D620 has a wide screen, the latest Intel dual-core processors, and a wide range of connectivity options. It will be particularly attractive to those who are on the road much of the time, since it weighs 4.37 pounds with a choice of Intel Core Solo or Core Duo processors a four-cell battery. A five-pound model has a dual-core processor and a six-cell battery. Hewlett-Packard's Compaq nc6320 has a good set of features, wireless broadband, and dual-core processors at a competitive price. It weighs 6.1 pounds, which makes it heavier than some other models, but it also has a larger display at 15 inches. It has a six-cell battery and ran for nearly 4.5 hours during testing. The recommended laptop is the Lenovo ThinkPad X60s, which weighs just 3.5 pounds. It is small, but has lots of power, and an eight-cell battery that lasts over seven hours. It also supports Verizon's EvDO wireless broadband and has an excellent suite of ThinkVantage tools, as do all ThinkPads. While this laptop is more expensive than the others, testers believe it is worth it. The X60s has a 12-inch display, which is very useable and features a low-voltage 1.6GHz Intel Core duo L2400 processor, 512MB of DDR2 SDRAM, and an 80GB hard drive. The 2400 processor is designed to give better battery life, but if desired, the laptop can be ordered with the Core Duo T2400 processor instead. The X60s addresses connectivity well, with a ThinkPad 11/a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless card and Bluetooth connectivity. It has an integrated cellular EvDO radio that offers broadband-like speeds on a wireless basis.
