Lattix has joined the open-source Eclipse Foundation as an add-in provider member. The company plans delivery of a Lightweight Dependency Model (LDM) technology that will formalize, control, and communicate the architecture in Eclipse embedded projects. The Eclipse communitys goal is the implementation of an extensible development platform for building applications. The Lattix LDM technology is said to be the first offering that uses a dependency structure matrix for a very compact and scalable representation of an entire system. It offers a lightweight approach for utilizing dependency models for an architectures automated analysis and enforcement. The LDMs design rules enable the automated enforcement and formalization of subsystem interdependencies, which includes external libraries. Lattix founder and CEO Neeraj Sangals expertise is in Unified Modeling Language (UML), which he has employed extensively for modeling software. UML is a standard language for the specification, visualization, construction, and documentation of artifacts of software systems. The language represents a combination of best engineered practices that have been successful in large and complex system modeling. UML mainly utilizes graphical notations for the expression of software project design. It gives teams the ability to communicate, investigate potential designs, and validate architectural design of software.
