The program uses centralized data for processed file management, traffic monitoring, and job scheduling. Users are kept updated about changes made to files via notifications and alerts. The two most critical features of the software, however, are its instant proofing and Job Definition Format (JDF) capability. The product's JDF Workflow Solutions Framework allows the initiation of JDF workflows and captures output generated by JDF. Direct dialog between prepress and the art department is available through the user interface. A simple forms editor lets users create job tickets and request changes to jobs. Virtual Ticket also automates repetitive tasks through the creation of custom job tickets with integrated scripts that drive production software tools. Virtual Ticket is user-friendly, but users must be specific about instructions given to the order processor. The product includes InterSync 2.0 Technology, which is a file service agent that provides real-time monitoring and tracking of existing file server volumes and catalog files. Virtual Ticket can be used either as a standalone product or with MetaCommunication's Job Manager software. It can also be integrated with other third-party software or enterprise resource management (ERP) systems.
