Lattice3D's Lattice3D Publisher is for those who want to publish 3D data for use in 3D documents, parts lists, and Web pages. Lattice3D products are module-based and offer flexible configurations. Users can buy choose to purchase only the components needed and can subsequently add more modules. The open standards-based products integrate with PDM, enterprise resource planning (ERP), or other applications. Products include a free viewer Player Pro (for adding measurement and sectioning abilities with changes saved efficiently in the compact XVL file). Lattice3D Publisher is template-based and provides automated Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) publishing with customizable templates. The template does placement and hot linking for parts lists, graphics, and assembly structures using JavaScript of HTML. Composer is used for creation of 3D notebook documents for collaboration, and the native file format is compact XVL. Toyota is a user of Lattice3D's products. Toyota uses CATIA and Pro/ENGINEER and can convert CAD models in disparate file formats to compressed XVL for use of data downstream. Testers put only the Lattice3D Publisher component through its paces. They could use two types of converters: One type could add a Save as XVL icon to a CAD program and the other, a server converter type, becomes an enterprise 3D publishing system. The two SolidWorks 2005 models and the STATION2.DWG converted well, but the ENGINE.DWG did not convert. IGES data was imported with the XVL Studio application, and the IGES file translated to a 24KB XVL file in 9 seconds.
