Magoo Software's MagooClient 2.1 is a lean and mean client for eXtensible Markup Language (XML)-based business processes. MagooClient 2.1 not only allows users to interact with business processes, but . . . also becomes part of the business process itself. MagooClient 2.1 can perform Web services requests and is designed to be inserted in the path of XML messages. The main window looks like an e-mail client, and forms for messages are built on the fly. Messages can stay in a drafts folder until they should be sent to a specific destination. When the messages have been sent, they are moved into the sent folder. In simple terms, MagooClient 2.1 can begin business processes by creating and sending XML messages to service, and the software also can take into consideration review, validation, and editing of messages. Messages can be routed, and exception handling can be done. A message type catalog is maintained, and a wizard is provided that eases population of the catalog. The MagooClient 2.1 uses its proprietary XML Schema ability for efficiency but also permits validation against the Apache Xerces parser for comparison. MagooClient 2.1 automatically renders forms from XML content, and no form design is allowed or required. MagooClient 2.1 itself works well to create a usable layout. Transports have to be configured in the catalog, and transports supported presently are HTTP, POP3, Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), and JMS. The Mozilla Rhino scripting engine is embedded in MagooClient 2.1 and provides an integrated, drag-and-drop script editor. Scripts can be used as macros and launched from a pop-up menu.
