Zazzles namesake personalized item site allows users to create and order customized postage stamps, T shirts, posters, cards, and other items. Zazzles co-founder Jeff J. Beaver, says Zazzle is an all new way for users to express themselves by designing items online through asynchronous JavaScript and eXtensible Markup Language (XML) abilities and to then order the items. Zazzle, however, has to reject 5% of orders due to copyright and publicity rights infringement considerations. Custom stamps have many restrictions, including celebrity pictures, ads, or political statements. Zazzle competes with CafePress in the category for Largest Online Market for Customized Products, but recently removed that claim from its site to fame after having received a cease and desist order from CafePress, which says it is way ahead in efficiency. At Zazzle, there are no minimum order volume fees and no setup fees for preparation of T shirt designs. Zazzle also turns items around in under one day. Users do all the design work and pay a premium price for the items. Gross margins are 70% on print products, 50% on apparel, and 20% on stamps.
