Title: IBM Finally Gets on Board Service Bus

IBM has added a lightweight enterprise service bus (ESB) and an Eclipse-based service-oriented architecture development tool to its WebSphere product line. With this development, IBM is expanding its SOA platform as well as starting a partnership program to support it. This turnkey SOA implementation for the enterprise is expected to help solve problems many IBM customers have when dealing with web services. By putting an ESB in front of a web services interface, there is much less complexity in those services. The ESB is made especially for those who want to base it on an open standard, but with higher functionality. The additions of a process server, business modeler, and business monitor help make the SOA package more cohesive. Some industry experts think IBM was pulled into ESB begrudgingly, and that they are late to the game. The new products will be available at different times during the year.
