Asigra' Asigra Televaulting for Enterprises, and Live Vault's and EVault's namesake offerings are among data security services highlighted that can be used by small- and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) and remote offices/branch offices (ROBOs) that need powerful backup and recovery at a cost that can be justified. Asigra, Avamar, Connected, EVault, and LiveVault offer products and services with which administrators can do advanced incremental backups with clicks of the mouse. The software is loaded into the user's environment, and backup is to a remote vaulting service over the interface. Administrators can select individual drives and directories, in addition to some file types to be included or excluded. In most instances, an agent will have to be installed on each machine to be backed up. However, Asigra allows the user to select one system to be the ds-client, which communicates with all systems in the environment, via various protocols, including SSH, CIFS, or NFS. Hot backups of database can be done as well. Asigra also provides the best platform support because its agentless model supports major UNIX platforms and any platform that can export an NFS or CIFS share. Asigra says its BSPs protect more than 3 petabytes. Asigra is not a well-known brand, however, because its software is usually re-branded.
