BEA's WebLogic 8.1 continues the rollout of this complete messaging system that incorporates Java Messenging Service (JMS) implementations. It offers services that enable load-balanced messaging traffic to be distributed to JMS servers in a WebLogic cluster. The advantage of this scheme is that a distributed destination appears as an ordinary destination, meaning that existing JMS applications can be configured for distributed destinations. Physical topics are grouped as distribution topics, allowing JMS client applications to be produced for topic message producers as well as consumers. Another advantage of this software architecture is that connection factories can utilize JMS capabilities to supply load balancing and fail over for JMS clients. One important step is to make certain that the JMS client location is correctly aligned with the connection factory.
