PassLogix's v-Go AM 5.0 authentication gets excellent marks, especially for centralized control over authentication policies and graded authentication for improved support of location-based access. However, there is no direct integration with Netegrity. V-Go AM 5.0 is an add-on to the v-Go single-sign-on (SSO) authentication and identity management system. The usual implementation includes the v-Go SSO client side agent, the v-Go SSO administration console, the v-Go AM 5.0, and a directory or database where authentication policies and access control data are stored. For testing, users deployed Windows 2000, a GemPlus smart-card reader and related hardware, and v-Go SSO and v-Go AM client before installation of administration components. Connectivity to the NWC Active Directory 2000 was very straightforward. v-Go SSO works with many directories, including Novell eDirectory, Java Sym Directory, LDAPv2- or LDAPv3-enabled servers, and many databases, including IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle. Authentication Manager was chosen as the primary desktop logon method. Testers could configure authentication methods as required or optional and could rank them for type of access method granted for each authentication method.
