InnerMobile System from InnerWireless has been deployed at the Time Warner Center to make sure that the complex's guests, customers, residents, and commercial tenants can get wireless signals from any location on the Center's 55 floors. The wireless utility technology of InnerWireless is designed to distribute signals for up to 13 wireless applications that use radio frequencies from 400MHz to 2.5GHz. David Hackman, an independent consultant, says the prospect of eradicating the need to set up multiple disparate networks is exciting. InnerWireless system uses coaxial cable that is installed throughout the building to carry and radiate wireless signals, in addition to access points on each floor. All Center communications, including messaging, paging, two-way radio, police and fire communications, and Wi-Fi data access, are linked into the system. The Mandarin Oriental Hotel uses the top 20 floors of one of the Center's two towers. All leading cellular carriers are linked with the InnerWireless system via cables connected to base stations. An expert says InnerWireless difference is its support for various technologies and lack of requirements for different systems. The University of Chicago, another InnerWireless user, chose the technology because it supports all applications, including an integrated patient monitoring-nurse call system, for faster response from nurses connected via wireless IP phones.
