New features in anacubis anacubis Desktop 3.0, the most recent release of the information visualization package, are for decision-makers throughout an organization who desire to act with the utmost confidence and knowledge. New features include Find Path, Categorizer, User Aggregation, Database Importer, and Image Importer. With Find Path, all the links and linked entities between any two entities in the View Area can be found. Categorizer subdivides entities into subsystem-entities based on properties, and user aggregation allows users to aggregate a set of related entities and their relationships into a composite entity that can subsequently be disaggregated by drilling. Users can import data from Microsoft Access, Oracle, SQL Server, Excel, and Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) data. Image Importer associates images, including logos, with entities, which will represent the entities in the View Area. Information visualization is a part of business intelligence (BI) in which visual perception can be used to increase the ability to think about and understand abstract data. When abstract information is graphically shown on a computer screen so that exploration through dynamic manipulation of the display (filtering, highlighting, rearranging, and more) is possible, the user is doing information visualization. When the work is done well, exceptionally useful insights can be the result. The described primary functions of anacubis Desktop 3.0 include data retrieval, data consolidation, information analysis, and information dissemination as pictures.
