A discussion of research into safety in the workplace highlights many sites that provide information on injuries related to injuries from violence and other non-employer-controllable causes, repetitive motion injuries, specific modes of transportation, and all types of compensation for work-related injuries. Cited resources that can by used include the sites of corporate trainers, government agency Web sites, policy statements from leading health care facilities, and the sites of universities. For information on ergonomics and the 'injuries and concerns of white-collar workers,' researchers can turn to the site of the Ergonomics Society for a definition, while other listed cites described physical ailments related to repetitive strain, in addition to precautions that employers can take by giving workers well-designed workstations. As for transportation safety, good sources are the Reference Sources and Digital Collection-Safety and Security of the site of the National Transportation Library. Also of value is the Harmer E. Davis Transportation Library Web site at lib.berkeley.edu/ITSL/, which links to aviation or highway resources, e-journals, Institute of Transportation Studies research publications, and excellent links to transportation organizations. Nonmatriculated students can search the Northwestern University Transportation Library at library.northwestern.edu/transportation or TRANWeb, the library's article file.
