Safari Books Online, the provider of Books Online, Desk Online, and Safari Business Books Online, is a joint venture between technology book publishing titans O'Reilly and Pearson Technologies that has been successful in the e-book market. The total number of books is based upon subscription level. Products offered are Safari Books Online for individuals; Desk Online, an electronic reference library that offers quick references regarding business topics for managers and business professionals; and Safari Enterprise library, which combines desktop, business, and technology books specially constructed enterprises that buy over 500 seats. Safari claims tens of thousands of individual subscribers in its B2C channel, and the number of individual subscribers doubled from 2002 to 2003. Safari also says subscription renewal rates are at about 94 percent,
